God’s Secretaries: Explore the Making of the King James Bible

The King James Bible is the GREATEST work of English prose ever written! You may not realize it, but the translation of the bible we use every Sunday is a direct descendant of the King James Bible.

The Spiritual Reading Group is discussing how this translation was conceived and implemented in only seven years. On December 14, we will continue our discussion of God’s Secretaries, by Adam Nicholson, and review chapters 6-8. In these chapters, Nicholson vividly recounts how the Gunpowder Plot almost destroyed the government and derailed the King James translation. Then it returns to a discussion of how the translation progressed in 1606-1607.

If you are unable to attend, you can participate by joining the SAEC Spiritual Reading Group Facebook page, where John Grothues and/or John Ibanez monitor the online discussion.
